Her approach to orthodontic care

Dr. Pritam treats orthodontics as a long relationship, not a single procedure — most cases run 12 to 24 months, with a check-up every few weeks along the way. She spends the first visit understanding not just the bite, but what the person actually wants from treatment (straighter teeth, a corrected jaw relationship, or simply more confidence smiling in photos), and builds the plan around that rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.

When should you see an orthodontist?

Common signs worth a consultation include crowded or overlapping teeth, a noticeable gap between teeth, an overbite or underbite, jaw clicking or difficulty chewing evenly, or a child losing baby teeth earlier or later than expected. For children specifically, an early check-up around age 7 can catch bite and jaw growth issues while they're still easy to guide — even if full treatment doesn't start for a few more years.

Braces vs. clear aligners — how she decides

Neither option is universally "better" — it depends on the complexity of the case, daily habits, and personal preference. Traditional braces stay on the teeth around the clock, which makes them well suited to more complex bite corrections and growing children. Clear aligners are removable and far less visible, which appeals to teens and adults who want a lower-profile treatment — provided the case is straightforward enough and the patient is disciplined about wearing them 20+ hours a day. Dr. Pritam will tell you honestly which category your case falls into rather than defaulting to whichever is more convenient to sell.

Beyond straightening — smile design

Alongside orthodontics, Dr. Pritam also leads the clinic's smile-design and cosmetic cases — looking at tooth shape, gum line, and proportion as a whole, not just alignment. This often comes up for patients finishing orthodontic treatment who want to also address shade, minor chips, or an uneven gum line as a final finishing step.
